Dorset County Hospital

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a busy, modern hospital providing a full range of district general services, including an accident and emergency department, and links with satellite units in five community hospitals. Renal services are also provided for patients throughout Dorset and South Somerset.

Bleeding disorder services
The Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester registers a small number of patients with bleeding disorders and a haemostasis clinic is run on alternate Fridays in the Fortuneswell unit.
If patients require admission to manage a bleed this is normally coordinated via the on call consultant haematologist. Children are admitted under the care of an on call consultant paediatrician with guidance regarding dosing of treatment and monitoring from the haematologist.
